MAN – The Conspiracy Kitchen

It almost feels like a swear word these days………MAN. Or to be more precise, the use of the word MAN!

I agree with equality. I understand the importance of judging people for who they are, not what they are. Discrimination and stereotyping can be extremely damaging to an individual. We are after all, equally Human!

Or are we??

Let’s try something. I’m going to list some types of people and I wonder how many of them are offensive?

Postman Policeman Fireman Fisherman Anchorman Marksman Linesman Spaceman Batman Superman Spiderman

Any problems so far? Have I offended anyone? Ok, let’s list some things to see if any of those are offensive.

This is Leonardo da Vinci’s “Man” and it was used by NASA. They sent this image across space, with some other items. So if found by aliens they would know what to expect on Earth. Basically a 6 foot spider with a perm!! No wonder they don’t visit.

I must have offended many people now! Outrageous to suggest all these things are “Men Only”!! But this is the point, they’re not, and they never have been.

Postwoman, Police lady, Fire lady, Fisher, Anchor, Sniper, Referees assistant, Astronaut, Batgirl, Supergirl and Spider Girl. Where’s the problem??

As a man, why can’t I call myself a “Postman”? Ok apart from the fact I’m not actually a postman. Or why can’t I call myself a “Policeman”? Yeah, ok I’m not a policeman either and before I carry on with the rest, I’m also not Batman!! Or am I??

No, really, I’m not Batman, I’m too short for a start. Fatman maybe. Whatever, I don’t care. You’re not Batman either, unless the actual Batman is reading this……then you are.

Gone off track slightly, Mmmmm, what was I saying? Yes, women. Right, let’s just be honest with each other. Men and Women are different! HOLD THE FRONT PAGE!!! “Some unknown blogger with weird idea’s has worked out what most people have known their whole life!!” MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT!!!

Even God made us different! Adam and Eve. Although he made Eve from one of Adam’s ribs. But then he made Adam out of dirt! Oh, are you not a believer in the faith? Ok, the first humans were also different just as we are if you want to go down the evolution path. Either way, think of us like a plug and socket. If we weren’t then none of us would be here.

We have different names, different clothes, different grooming products. If I join a netball team I wouldn’t expect the whole team to start wearing jogging bottoms to make us equal. I also don’t get offended that every shampoo, conditioner and fabulous hair product advertised on TV is aimed squarely at females. The fact that women have their own dedicated sports known as for example, “Womens Football” is just fine by me. We have a Queen ruling the Sovereignty and until recently answered to the countries second female Prime Minister.

With the exception of “Gentleman” on my list above, I agree that any one can do any thing or any job and should be treated equally. But stop telling me I can’t celebrate being a man, and more importantly, calling myself just that.

I will still hold the door open for women, let them go in front or help with something heavy if they appear to need help. You can’t take the “MAN” out of Gentleman.
